DK in the springtime

This month I picked up 2 sessions in Copenhagen and Madrid, so we met up with our traveling Nanny and headed North. Funny enough the weather in Denmark is by far out shining Spain these days. (apparently we're headed for the coldest summer in 200 years!) It was such a nice week for Carolina and Grammy to take long walks and explore the city. I can't complain too much..... check out my office below! We stayed right on the water, near Nyhavn and the city center. Each morning I caught the water taxi to get to work- what a nice way to start the day! We also got to meet up with some of our favorite peeps during the week- Sara, Shereen and fam, Henrik and The Engbergs. And Carolina is now registered as a Danish resident as well- why not?!

Walters- de Abiega go South 2013

I'm a sucker for family vacations and since pre-baby have been dying to plan some trips with our friends and families. Since I was little my family always planned our summer and easter vacations and bowl game trips with my parents friends. Such wonderful memories. So despite the push-back =), I am bound and determined to make this happen!

Let me introduce to you the Walters. Our first joint holiday and the first of many more to come. Liz and Chris flew over from Los Angeles so we could all head South for an Andalucian adventure. We stopped at Arcos de la Frontera for a few nights in one of the "pueblos blancos", staying in an amazing Parador in the middle of this village. We went around to the beaches and nearby pueblos of Cadiz before heading over to Sevilla. How fun to squish the 5 of us in a car, stopping off for Tapas and Tinto along the way, mixed cd and all. and don't forget the nocilla- never forget the nocilla! Can't wait to plan our next destination with them!!

2 years ago today...

Once upon a time..... 

6 months old

Who is this big girl? This month has flown by! Half a year old and you are just the most precious thing I could ever imagine. You are sitting up all by yourself, rolling over anytime we put you down, pulling yourself up in the bath and in your chair and grabbing at everything in sight. I love it when you hold tight around my neck. You love to grab and hold your bottle at night time and of course you are still chewing on your and my fingers like crazy. After a few nights of training.... you are the sleep champion and in your own room! You hold tight to your little lamb and off you go. We put you down around 9pm, feed once and I patiently wait on you to wake up around 9:30am, sometimes later. There go our morning playdates! I love it when you wake up these days. Happy as can be, blabbering and all. You've just started making some baba, wawa and dada sounds as well. It happened overnight and once you get going- usually last a few hours. You now weigh 15.98 pounds and are 25.6 inches tall. Growing like a weed! I guess everyone says this- but every moment is just absolutely the best.

One last chance to hit the slopes before it all melts away..... Carolina must be in climate shock. From Panama to the Pyrenees in just 3 weeks.

Playground fun

Spring is here! We took advantage of it by heading over to Retiro park for the morning and coffee afterwards. Love this pic- since most of our little ones are way too young for the playground. We had fun watching atleast. I adore Madrid in the springtime!!

Back to work.... in a way.... .

Starting in March I agreed to go back to work 1 week a month to help out with some of our workshops for the year. Grammy will come along for the first few trips this spring, we're off for the summer and then let's see this fall- not sure baby Carolina will make it all the way to Asia! A nice little welcome back though...... off to Panama we go. Carolina and Grammy in tote!

before the week started we headed to visit the Panama Canal- Miraflores locks (there is 1 set of locks on each end of the canal that the vessels must pass thru 1 by 1)

and over a drink at the cafe we got to see a Maersk vessel go thru- really such a cool experience to see how the canal functions

Fast forward 5 days..... of which I have no work pictures of course..... and we celebrated Mommy's back to work with a few days at Playa Bonita. Here is Carolina's first time swimming- she seemed pretty tranquil for someone just getting in the water for time.
