2 weeks of Tennessee

O.k. so it rained like crazy, but we were still able to celebrate the 4th of July (a few days delayed) and spend some serious quality time with the fam. Rod and Addie got to help babysit the first weekend and then most of the days we spent relaxing at home with Babaw and Grammie. Luckily the Odom´s were passing thru Knoxville, so Carolina also got her time in with Will and Gaines- though never long enough! Oh I miss these days already. Here´s to a whole lot of Red, White and Blue!
Collages by Christy- love the matching outfits to kick off the celebrations! and love these boys to pieces!

8 Months Old

Scootin', sittin' y sin parar (without stopping)! You are on the move, pulling up and standing up. We've had to drop the crib to it's lowest, but my goodness you are so much fun! You're a schedule girl and wake up, sleep, eat and nap 3 times a day almost to the dot. You started your 2nd meal, eating chicken, carrots and potatoes de la casa. You eat every last bite and these days you are at your fussiest when i don't feed you quick enough- this must be why you gained 2lbs this month! You weigh 19.6lbs and are 2ft 3in tall. Your favorite toys right now are Sophie the giraffe, Snoopy, your little yellow ducky and any remote you can get your hands on. It's super sweet how you can now hold onto our neck and shoulder when we carry you and reach for us to pick you up from the stroller or crib. What a joy to spend these days with you.

Grammy in Spain: Springtime edition

A few snapshots from mom's trip to Madrid, Bilbao and San Sebastian. I love how she took pics of Carolina while they were out. We never seem to remember this on random days around the city. This will be so nice to have and remember her at this age in her home town. =) While I worked, they went around to the plazas, cafes, palaces and parks. We then met up at dinner for a few nice meals out on the town. We so much enjoyed this visit and can't wait for her to come back!

My favorite! Grammy and Carolina at the Cafe.

Just hanging out around town!

Walking around Parque Juan Carlos (just next to our house)

Afterwork dinner with Anders
In front of the Royal Palace
visiting the de Abiega's in Bilbao- in front of the Guggenheim

daytrip to San Sebastian- it was chilly, but the food was yummy as always!

7 months old

Hey sweet baby girl! I could eat up those cheeks all day long.... 17.6 lbs and 26.7 inches tall. You started fruits (pears, apples and bananas) this month and I can't shovel them in fast enough. Finally you've figured out this thing called napping- come on, you're in Spain- siesta's are what they do best! You get in about 3- 30 minute naps during the day and are still sleeping away thru the night. You love to grab at Mommy and Daddy's face and rolling is your favorite mode of transportation. Grammy came to visit and has been teaching you to crawl- at this point, you're just moving backwards =) You like to scream and you've got this new grunt that just started where you slap your legs at the same time. The most precious though is when you get sleepy and lay your head on my shoulder. What smiles you bring. And my oh my, how fast you are growing!

DK in the springtime

This month I picked up 2 sessions in Copenhagen and Madrid, so we met up with our traveling Nanny and headed North. Funny enough the weather in Denmark is by far out shining Spain these days. (apparently we're headed for the coldest summer in 200 years!) It was such a nice week for Carolina and Grammy to take long walks and explore the city. I can't complain too much..... check out my office below! We stayed right on the water, near Nyhavn and the city center. Each morning I caught the water taxi to get to work- what a nice way to start the day! We also got to meet up with some of our favorite peeps during the week- Sara, Shereen and fam, Henrik and The Engbergs. And Carolina is now registered as a Danish resident as well- why not?!
Royal Opera House, donated by Mr. Moller- this was my office for the week!
Nope, not December, just Grammy's camera showing an amazing view of Nyhavn =)

with Shereen and Henrik at Tivoli Gardens- so nice in the springtime!
Carolina and The Little Mermaid (they're about the same size)
Mom's first time at Tivoli as well
BBQ at The Engberg's- Their garden is such a site! So glad to call this place my second home! (even have my name on the door =)

Walters- de Abiega go South 2013

I'm a sucker for family vacations and since pre-baby have been dying to plan some trips with our friends and families. Since I was little my family always planned our summer and easter vacations and bowl game trips with my parents friends. Such wonderful memories. So despite the push-back =), I am bound and determined to make this happen!

Let me introduce to you the Walters. Our first joint holiday and the first of many more to come. Liz and Chris flew over from Los Angeles so we could all head South for an Andalucian adventure. We stopped at Arcos de la Frontera for a few nights in one of the "pueblos blancos", staying in an amazing Parador in the middle of this village. We went around to the beaches and nearby pueblos of Cadiz before heading over to Sevilla. How fun to squish the 5 of us in a car, stopping off for Tapas and Tinto along the way, mixed cd and all. and don't forget the nocilla- never forget the nocilla! Can't wait to plan our next destination with them!!

so who's our next taker?
